Where To Find Wildlife in Creede, Colorado

No items found.

Wildlife are abundant in and around Creede Colorado, particularly along the Silverthread Scenic Byway (Hwy 149) and the many Forest Service roads that branch off of it. Evenings and early mornings are best times for sightings. Mule deer, elk, bighorn sheep, moose and a host of other mammals and birds are abundant. Deer are a fairly common encounter while elk, moose, and bighorn sheep tend to migrate into lower valleys as the high country weather cools, so Fall is a great time to catch a glimpse! Bear, lynx, cougar, bobcat, marmot, ground squirrels and many other small mammals also are common to the area.
